How does billing work?
Payments go through Stripe in US dollars. Learn what you are charged for and when, where to see every payment, and how receipts reach you.
All payments on Plot Party are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. You enter your card in Stripe Checkout, and Plot Party never sees or stores your card details.
What you are charged for
- Subscriptions. When you subscribe you pay the first billing period at checkout, then the same card is charged automatically at the start of every following period, monthly or yearly depending on the billing you chose. See when your subscription renews.
- Upgrades. Moving to a higher plan is charged immediately and starts a fresh billing period. Downgrades are not charged until your next renewal. See upgrading and downgrading.
- Boosters. Booster packs are one-time payments. They do not create a subscription and are never charged again. See what Boosters are.
Promotions and coupon codes are applied at checkout and discount your first billing period only. See how promo prices and coupon codes work.
Currency and taxes
All prices are in US dollars and your card is charged in US dollars. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. Prices exclude any applicable taxes; see adding a VAT or tax ID to your invoices for how tax details are handled.
Payment methods
Stripe Checkout accepts major credit and debit cards. Depending on your country, additional payment methods may be offered on the checkout page. The card you use at checkout becomes the card for renewals.
Seeing your payments
Click your Plot Points balance in the header to open the account menu and choose Payment Records. Every successful payment is listed with the plan name, the amount, the date and a label showing whether it was a Monthly or Yearly subscription charge or a OneTime Booster purchase.
Payment Records is about money. For the Plot Points side, what was added and what each generation cost, use Credit History in the same menu. See how Plot Points are spent.
Receipts and invoices
After each successful payment Stripe emails a receipt to the email address on your Plot Party account. Subscription payments also come with an invoice. See downloading your invoice or receipt.
Refunds
Subscription payments and Booster purchases are non-refundable under our Terms of Service. Cancelling stops future charges and keeps your plan until the end of the period you already paid for. If you believe a charge was made in error, use Contact support below and include the date and amount.
